Formerly a men’s suit retailer, the ground floor of this heritage property located in the heart of Ottawa was converted into a 2-bedroom executive rental suite. In addition to developing a new layout, selecting finishes, and designing custom cabinetry, the conversion of the unit from retail to residential required an extensive building code analysis and permit drawing set. The design concept centred around creating a balance between modern European-inspired living and maintaining the heritage character of the existing building.
